System Beep

Has anyone else noticed that their normal system beep (from XBell() and the like) no longer works after upgrading to CentOS 4? Here's a list of my sound modules: snd_intel8x0m 14276 0 snd_intel8x0 26528 1 snd_ac97_codec 67296 2 snd_intel8x0m,snd_intel8x0 snd_pcm_oss 47652 0 snd_mixer_oss 16384 2 snd_pcm_oss snd_pcm 79880 4 snd_intel8x0m,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss snd_timer 19588 1 snd_pcm snd 43748 7 snd_intel8x0m,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer soundcore 6752 2 snd snd_page_alloc 7172 3 snd_intel8x0m,snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm I turned up all the volumes in alsamixer to max, and I've properly configured the bell settings in "xset b." I am trying to setup webdav. I have tried hte webdav list. new version of zlib to CenOS 3.3 ?

I wanted to upgrade my ClamAV but ./configure gave this error checking for zlib installation... /usr configure: error: The installed zlib version may contain a security bug. Please upgrade to 1.2.2 or later: http://www.zlib.net. You can omit this check with --disable-zlib-vcheck but DO NOT REPORT any stablility issues then! but yum gave this message # yum install zlib Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS-3.3 - Addons Server: CentOS-3.3 - Base Server: CentOS-3.3 - Extras Server: CentOS-3.3 - Updates Finding updated packages Downloading needed headers zlib is installed and is the latest version. No actions to take is it safe to install ClamAV with the --disable-zlib-vcheck option ? -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by OpenProtect(http://www.openprotect.com), and is believed to be clean.
