I'm stopping reading this thread at this point, but: Given what I've read, I don't think it's better. I think people who fail to update won't change their behavior because of this change. If you are still seeking feedback, my feedback continues to be to not change the version scheme. I see lots of positive things happening (CERN, Xen), and then this issue, which has become a pointless march through a swamp full of uncaring ooze. -- greg
