It seems that not just redhat-artwork package is involved but:

* desktop-backgrounds-basic: for backgrounds [1].
* redhat-logos: for anaconda stuff[2], splashes[3], firtboot[4], gdm
theme[5],  rhgb[6] and logos.
* gdm: for face images [7]

[1] /usr/share/backgrounds

[2] /usr/share/anaconda/pixmaps/

[3] /boot/grub/
    /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime/boot/
    /usr/share/anaconda/pixmaps/
    /usr/share/apps/ksplash/
    /usr/share/firstboot/pixmaps/
    /usr/share/pixmaps/
    /usr/share/pixmaps/splash/

[4] /usr/share/firstboot/pixmaps/

[5] /usr/share/gdm/themes/

[6] /usr/share/rhgb

[7] /usr/share/faces/

maybe there are others.

Best Regards,
