A common workaround that is often mentioned on Fedora's mirror-list is 
to redirect .iso downloads to ftp URLs.  Even if your http server can 
support > 2GB files, some http clients cannot (old wget for example).  
Here is the Apache config we use:

RedirectMatch 301 /(.*\.iso)$ ftp://<hostname>/$1
RedirectMatch 301 /(.*/iso/*)$ ftp://<hostname>/$1

(replace <hostname> with your FTP server's hostname)
