The server answers (initial connection at least) _extremely_ slow . time 
curl http://centos.eecs.wsu.edu/ gives

    real    0m51.768s
    user    0m0.003s
    sys     0m0.004s

when accessed from Romania and

    real    1m7.771s
    user    0m0.000s
    sys     0m0.004s

 when accessed from a hosting provider in Germany
