Hi,

I think removing a mirror lagging for 15days is reasonable. However it
also depends on when you inform the maintainer, so if you send it when
a mirror is lagging for say 1 week then it gives 1 week for the mirror
host to fix the problem. 1 week might sound long enough to wait for a
response, but I think people might be using a non frequently checked
email address which could delay response time.

Perhaps a good balance could be to inform the point of contact when
their mirror is lagging 3-5days (whatever acceptable by centos) which
should leave sufficient time to fix it before the end of 15days when
they get dropped out with a final email that they have been dropped.

I don't think its necessary to inform the removal in this list. Nobody
here can fix a broken mirror, if you do then it would be purely for
announcement purposes.

Hi,
I would like to have your input of the "proper" way to remove
a "non working" public CentOS mirror from our status page.
By "non working" I mean
- lagging for more than 15 days as listed here ->
http://mirror-status.centos.org/
and
- point of contact unreachable (not answering emails)
I usually silently remove the lagging mirror, but
I should also probably sent a notice to this mailing list?
What do you think?
Best regards,
Tru
