That sounds like a plan.  Although, if you have time and interest in
hunting down what happened the folks over on
https://lists.dulug.duke.edu/mailman/listinfo/yum would be happy to
help troubleshoot and possibly fix whatever bug caused this (if it is
a bug and not something weird that happened on just your box).

Be sure to send your yum, OS, python, rpm versions and your yum.conf
and yum.repos.d
