[CentOS] Best way to add/update an installation

By the way, I see "kickstart" referred to.  Is it possible to put a 
"kickstart" list in the system and have a pre-set list of rpm's loaded, 
or does that assume that I have checked all dependencies...something tht 
yum does for me.
