Yes, always update the 3w-9xxx driver (9000 series) from the 3Ware releases -- ensure the firmware, driver and 3DM2 all match. For the most part, the older 3w-xxxx driver (6000-8000 series) is the latest, and works with the latest firmware releases -- with all recent RHEL3/4 kernels. The 3w-xxxx driver (6000-8000 series) has been stable/proven for years now. -- Bryan J.
