I now have to mention Emacs with AucTeX.  ;-) I generally grab the
latest AucTeX SRPM from Fedora Core (i.e., from Rawhide) and build
it locally.  Or else get the real source [0] and build that.  The
latest and greatest AucTeX incorporates preview-latex, which
``typesets'' some mathematical stuff for you and displays it in
your document.  I'm not that excited by that behavior, but you
might like it.

I also install Kile, a full-blown GUI editor, for folks here to
use.  It's a KDE program and is a lot like WinEDT.  Kile seems to
be reasonably nice if you like that sort of thing.  Dag has RPMs.
