Yep, that's pretty much it.

# Run screen
screen

# Do stuff
stuff

# Then "detach" (the meta key's usually CTRL)
CTRL-a d             <--- This detaches from your session but leaves it running

# SSH back to the system then re-attach
screen -r

someone earlier posted.
