The first kernel that indicates "smp" in the name is for machines with multiple processors. The second one is the same version of the kernel, but it is for single processor machines. By the fact that both were installed, it seems to indicate that your machine has multiple processors (or a hyperthreaded processor) and as such you should use the first one. Barry
