[CentOS] IBM Type 8795-1ux LTO-3

I have an LTO-3 as described in the subject. I've installed lin_tape
and lin_taped RPMs for RHEL 5 but still it doesn't work.

/var/log/lin_tape.trace has:


/dev/IBMtape opened.
lin_taped  Tue Dec 16 15:53:18 2008
   Failed to detect any tape drives.

   Failed to detect any changer devices.

How can I solve it?
