Hi

lpoptions -p mfd_scmsoffice -l | grep -i duplex
OptionalDuplexer/OptionalDuplexer: False *True
Duplex/Duplex: None DuplexNoTumble *DuplexTumble
 
This makes me think it should be duplexing by default
