Use pfSense (www.pfsense.org) for that.
It's based on FreeBSD, but you don't really need care about the OS -
it comes with a web-gui that can configure everything (fail-over, WAN-
loadbalancing/failover).
Unless you want to spend a lot of time and never get it right 100%...
