This seems to conflict with the release notes
(http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOS5.4) which recommend
this procedure:

yum clean all
yum update glibc\*
yum update yum\* rpm\* python\*
yum clean all
yum update
shutdown -r now
