Following on Akemi's excellent advice, CentOS 5 has much higher ram
requirements due to yum and installer changes. The release notes
recommend at least 512MB of ram, though 1G is preferable. From the
sounds of things, Akemi is correct and CentOS 4 is really the only
option unless you want to upgrade the hardware.
