Thanks. The NTFS code in the 5.3 kernel is broken (see http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=3363 ). A couple of solutions are given in that bug tracker. One is to follow the instructions in http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/NTFS and the other is to use kABI-tracking kernel module kmod-ntfs from the ELRepo site ( http://elrepo.org ).
