[CentOS] CentOS 5.5 on a new Mac Mini? no CD Driver?

OK, my problems get worse.

I connected an external USB DVD Drive and that worked.

Now, however, no hard disks are recognized....

I was really hoping to run CentOS on this machine, but I guess back to Snow Leopard Server I go....
