[CentOS] can't update CENTOS - mirrore issue? or what?

well, I'm now much better off in consequence of disabling epel, 179  
updates went through just fine. the cleanup with yum didn't seem to  
have the desired effect:

[root at cserver admin]# yum check-update

so definite progress but not quite there yet. thanks for the help.
