Anything closely related to SysVr4 had to be buggy in the early days.
It was a fantastic design but sort of thrown together.  You probably
stayed up to date with bugs fixed as they were found, but what did it
cost you to go past Solaris 5.x?

Linux wasn't all that great at Java then - you made the right choice.
