[CentOS] How should I reinstall CentOS?

     Well, you can probably uninstall X doing

yum groupremove 'X Window System'

But, since I am late in the show I dunno what's the deal with X11 that
is causing you such suffering.

      IMHO, you could just copy/tar the /etc/yum.repos.d/ and then
bring it back in the new install in one way or another.
