The "yum distro-sync' works well. I discovered the priorities plug-in in the CentOS wiki. (wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities) You can make sure a third party rpm never replaces a base rpm. Of course if not replacing the base rpm means the application does not work... Well you have to decide what you want to do. Bob S
