I am sure that all that give up their time and effort to make CentOS happen really deserve all the thanks and appreciation they get. I don't think anybody on this list would deny that, certainly not me. On the contrary, my concern is that some guys are potentially overworked or over stressed by the demands of the project. The slowing of the dot releases suggest to me that either
the releases are getting technically harder or ppl are less able to give time time to them. Either way, with more releases and the long maintenance period that the CentOS team have committed to things are only going to get harder. According to Karanbir's comments in response to an article (<a target="_blank" href="http://broadcast.oreilly.com/2009/08/the-future-of-centos-and-crite.html">http://broadcast.oreilly.com/2009/08/the-future-of-centos-and-crite.html</a>), CentOS developers are easy to replace. I am not so sure if that really is true if the process isn't documented and there is some kind of induction to get guys on-board before a developer leaves. This represents a risk to the project. One which I am not comfortable with. Part of my professional work is risk assessing system upgrades. I have been doing so long now that everything I professionally do is considered from a risk perspective. Maybe those of us that have to assess risk on a daily
basis understand what I am on about and the ones that don't.... don't.</span><br><br>For the record, I don't care whether dictatorship, oligarchy or what ever.
