A more conventional way on CentOS systems to restart the httpd service<br>
is either:<br>
/sbin/service httpd restart<br>
or even:<br>
/etc/init.d/httpd restart<br>
<br>
You haen't said if installing mod_python is the only thing you've done.<br>
Have you checked the error logs at /var/log/httpd?<br>
