Reclaiming old Openstack-Puppet nodes in ci.centos.org

Hi All, Looks like we have a few hosts assigned to the Openstack-Puppet project that have been hanging around for a while. I'd like to add this project to our automatic reaper script. Any objections? Any hosts that need to stick around while you get data off? Cheers! Brian

atomicapp hosts

hi guys, we have some machines allocated to atomicapp that have been around for a few weeks, I setup a couple, but the others look like either orphaned machines or someone else's static hosts. Since we are adding in the machine reaper scripts, just want to make sure that noone has a machine there they want data extracted from first ? this is specific to the machines allocated to the atomicapp project. Question about plugin installation: build-pipeline

Hi there, We're currently working on improving the RDO and RDO Manager CI. As part of those efforts, I'd like to use the build-pipeline plugin [1] to build a clear dependency flow of jobs to stay in the logic of "fail fast" and avoid needless jobs where possible. At a bird's eye view, it would look like this: "Install RDO on a single node and do very minimal testing" -> "Install RDO on multiple nodes with decent/exhaustive testing" -> "Promote the tested set of packages in the 'passed-ci' repository" This means we wouldn't bother doing exhaustive testing if the basic installation or the minimal testing fails and we would only promote the tested set of packages if the exhaustive testing passes. What's great with the pipelines plugin is that the dependencies are very clear and the dashboard it provides is very insightful to see what is passing or what is failing [2]. We will eventually be moving the RDO and RDO Manager CI jobs to the ci.centos infrastructure so knowing whether or not we can use this plugin is important. There are other ways around doing this (with another plugin, multi jobs) but it's not as straightforward, IMO. Please let me know what you think, Thanks ! Unscheduled outage **hufty.ci.centos.org** 00:30 - 02:00 UTC

Hi folks, We now should be back up and running now from a chassis failure. At around 0030 UTC the storage cards in hufty.ci.centos.org got in an inconsistent state, this caused all of the servers to shut down including the node hosting http://ci.centos.org/artifacts We are working on gathering log data so we can report this issue to the vendor, and will monitor the situation through the weekend. shortning the api and ssid keys

hi folks, i am pondering reducing the size of the api keys to 11 char's and also reducing the ssid returned for a session to 11 as well. this should be plenty to keep us going for a few dozen years without an overlap. Would this break anyone's setup ? ANNOUNCE: supermin & libguestfs CI on ci.centos.org

Hi, I'm proud to say that now we've got a CI for supermin and libguestfs available: https://ci.centos.org/view/libguestfs/ We have three jobs that currently runs every night: - supermin: builds supermin from git master, and runs the test suite - libguestfs: builds libguestfs from git master using the supermin built earlier, and runs the test suite; this is only triggered if the supermin job is successful (as the libguestfs tests would fail otherwise) - libguestfs-dist: runs make dist && make maintainer-check-extra-dist on the built libguestfs Every job is built on few slaves representing different Linux distributions, so we can ensure our development version can work with newer releases and it doesn't break old ones. At the moment, the slaves are: - Fedora 22 (stable) - CentOS 7 (stable) - Debian sid (development) - openSUSE 13.2 (stable) - Mageia 5 (stable) There are a few tests failures right now, mostly due to either network not being setup properly with the libvirt backend, or failures with newer xfstools versions. Of course, more jobs can be added for different kind of build/testing, so I'm open to more ideas about that. All of this is possible thanks to the resources kindly offered by the CentOS project, and the amazing work done to help me in setting up this CI. Thanks again! -- Pino Toscano

external link (potential) issue for nodes in the CI env

It's actually difficult to know where the issue is located, but I'll work on some tests (from the monitoring side) to verify the connectivity with $Internet. Those tests will cover: - - dns resolution for a set of external hosts - - icmp to a set of external hosts - - http tests to a set of external hosts. If your project/test[s] rely on some specific external repositories, feel free to comment on that thread, and I'll add those in in the monitoring. Other solution would also be to have a local copy of those repositories hosted *internally* to avoid saturating multiple times the single (shared) link to the internet. There would be no need to modify your scripts, as we can (through the local dns resolver) makes it transparent and redirect that mirror to the internally hosted one.
