In fact I tried to go to download page for 5.x on RHN customer portal, it lets you download 5.9.

And a

yum update

brings you to 5.9

All of this, as in the past, without the public announcement, neither to customers nor to rhelv5-announce mailing list (if archives are synchronized)....
