Can please someone put back previous samba version into the
repos ASAP?
We should _ALWAYS_ have prev versions in repos so people
could downgrade at least

Not to enter the specific topic (Samba). two points:

- I'm subscribed to both lists, but I think you should have written to centos list and not centos-devel for this problem.
You would have got more answers by final users that could have similar problems.

- I think your point here is that probably you have upgraded from 7.7 to 7.8
So your yum repo files now point to 7.8 and its updates
If you want to revert some packages to their 7.7 provided version, if possible without breaking dependencies based on the package you want to "rollback", you could try to also enable CentOS vault repositories (see http://vault.centos.org/). For example using appropriate repo files pointing to directories under http://vault.centos.org/7.7.1908/ (updates and os)

And then try to useĀ
sudo yum downgrade <package_name>-<version_info>

and see if it works and automatically solve dependencies.
Not tried myself. Verify on a test system first. Anyway the yum command should ask you for confirmation before proceeeding with the downgrade.
