Dein System sollte den Simulator ohne Probleme darstellen, wie ich aber sehe, hast du keinen 3D beschleunigten Treiber für X am Start. Das "nv" Modul ist das MESA Modul Das Modul welches du benötigst, bekommst du entweder von Nvidia.com (selber kompilieren mit den kernel quellen) oder von diversen repos wie rpmfusion.

Achtung proprietärer Code!
es gibt dann noch die sogenanten Nouveau Treiber. Die sind wohl Open Source, aber irgendwie haben die nicht die Performance die die Originalen Treiber bringen (gefühlte Eigenerfahrung).
Egal für welchen Treiber du dich entscheidest, der Simulator wird flüssig laufen, sobald deine Grafikkarte die OpenGL-Darstellung übernimmt und nicht deine CPU.

Ich benutze CentOS nur auf einigen Serversystemen. Workstation ist bei mir seit 10 Jahren Gentoo Linux. Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass du das Ruckeln in deinem Browser meinst oder? In dem Fall würde ich dir den NVIDIA Installer von nvidia.com empfehlen. Sollte au CentOS eigentlich funktionieren. Lies dir nochmals die Release Notes durch bezüglich Abhängigkeiten.
