How to get GLIBCXX_3.4.4 ??

Hi CentOS, I just completed the yum update to 4.2, hoping to get included with libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.4) for the x86_64. I need the libs to run cinelerra: [ryan@dorje]# cinelerra cinelerra: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.4' not found (required by cinelerra) An: "rpm -q -i --provides -l libstdc++-3.4.4-2" returns: (A bunch of stuff....) libstdc++.so.6()(64bit) libstdc++.so.6(CXXABI_1.3)(64bit) libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4)(64bit) libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.1)(64bit) libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.2)(64bit) libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.3)(64bit) (A bunch more of stuff....) but no _3.4.4 :( I downloaded the 25 meg, compressed .srpm of gcc and started reading the docs. I was hoping to compile my own, but that seems to be quite the endeavor. Anybody have one (I've searched all the .rpm search sites)? How about any hints on getting just that addition to the lib suite? pam_abl for CentOS 3?

I'm looking for an RPM (SRPM is OK) for pam_abl, suitable for installation on a CentOS 3.5 system. I've googled without identifying one I'm confident of. Would the one for Fedora 3 be expected to work? If not, what?

CentOS-4/beta/preview version immediate availability

Hi, I've had this like since last saturday or something. I don't seem to be getting it to beta.centos.org tho, so i'll just make it public thru the channels i control. ftp://centos.upi.iki.fi/pub/centos/4.2beta/isos/sparc/ There is ISOs and .torrents Know yourself out and try it out please. If you have something less than Ultra Sparc, you're out of luck with this as it's only targetted for Ultra Sparcs (ie. 64bit hardware). I've tested the installation to - U10 - U30 - Netra T1405 (quad) - Netra/X1 U30/UPA graphical installation didn't start, but it's something to be fixed before actual release. I'll post hte updates on tree that yum should use by default when i do have that tree (as in place to push updates). Hello, I would like to try CentOS on a PPC machine (a Pegasos http://www.pegasosppc.com ). http://www.centos.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=65 says, that a boot iso file can be downloaded, but I get a 404 error for http://beta.centos.org/centos/4.0beta/isos/ppc/ Could you please point me to the right URL? CentOS 3.5 to 3.6 yum dependency issues

When I do a yum update I get a couple of dependency issues: I see this one on every box I try to upgrade.. Package nptl-devel needs glibc-devel = 2.3.2-95.33, this is not available. I've only seen this one a couple of times.. Package up2date needs rpm >= 4.2.3-24_nonptl, this is not available. Tim

Yum Dependency errors

Greetings, This is a new install on CentOs 4.1 dvd from a couple weeks ago. The initial yum updates worked fine but now There are about 15 things that get dependency errors and yum will not install the updates. Rebuild the RPM database, removed /var/cache/yum/* , yum update yum for the latest version and the errors still exist. When you query the rpm database the dependency are installed. Can not get remote X connections to work on CentOS 4.1

I've encountered a strange problem in CentOS 4.1. I've never had this problem before, and I've been using X Windows since 1990, but I can't get remote X connections to work: $ hostname host00 $ echo $DISPLAY :0.0 $ xhost + access control disabled, clients can connect from any host $ rsh host01 $ xdpyinfo -d host00:0.0 xdpyinfo: unable to open display "host00:0.0" Both hosts are running CentOS 4.1 and SELinux is disabled. I know I can get this to wok with ssh, but that is not the point. Also, it's not a host name resolution problem, as substituting the IP address in the above command gives the same error. Finally, note that there is about a 3-4 second delay before the error message appears. Any recent changes in X that I am unaware of? Alfred
