But they probably won't do entirely what you need by themselves, IIUC what you want to do there. I suspect that after you get the library in it's final resting place, you'll want to add the target directory into /etc/ld.so.conf. If you don't reboot immediately and want to use it, you'll want to run ldconfig. This based on my interpretation that you want to pull this lib to an out-of-the-way place so it doesn't get trounced/removed when you pull major upgrades? HTH and that I wasn't addrssing a problem that doesn't exist.

yum can't find xen package?

I just installed CentOS 4.1 for the first time - I did a "minimal install"... Now I'm trying to install Xen - according to several online resources I should just be able to run `yum install xen`, but yum never finds the package - though tcpdump shows http traffic going to lists.centos.org: [root@centos ~]# yum install xen Setting up Install Process Setting up Repos update 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 base 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00 addons 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 extras 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00 Reading repository metadata in from local files update : ################################################## 178/178 base : ################################################## 1406/1406 extras : ################################################## 33/33 Parsing package install arguments No Match for argument: xen Nothing to do [root@centos ~]# yum search xen Searching Packages: Setting up Repos update 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 base 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00 addons 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 extras 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00 Reading repository metadata in from local files update : ################################################## 178/178 base : ################################################## 1406/1406 extras : ################################################## 33/33 No Matches found Has the xen package been removed from the yum servers? Copy and paste in a terminal with the mouse

Hi all, Does anybody know what is the name of the tool which is needed to copy some text in a terminal window and to paste this text at the end of the command line using the mouse ? It is a basic function but really helpfull and it is not installed on my workstation. I am using Gnome and CentOS 4.1. Regards, Jean LEE
