php-snmp *UPDATE*

Thank you to all the people that responded. I found a php.spec file for EL3 and modified the php.spec file that came with the php source rpm from the CentOS mirros. Built and installed the php-snmp rpm and it is working great!!! For anyone that would like to have a copy for themselves can find it at http://traffic.wonderwave.net I will leave it up for a week or two so act fast. I also posted the the original spec file, the one with snmp support and a diff file showing the difference between the two. Thanks again to all you helped me out. Dan

4 Final, RC1 -> Final?

Build team -- what's our current outlook on the 4 Final release shaping up to be (ie, this week, next week, a month..)? Has RedHat... oops... those folks in North Carolina decided to drop support for Pentium II machines in EL4? I have this old Compaq 3000R 300mHtz P2 which will never die, which makes for a really nice test base for new releases. Maybe the EL people have decided their subscriptions per year cost more than this server is worth and no one in their right mind would install EL4 on such equipment? Well, they are wrong, I am very left handed which makes me one of the ones who thinks in their right mind! Thanks for all the hard work! John Hinton

Packages on demmand

Hi all, I have four servers (one with redhat 7.3, two with CentOS 3.4 and one with CentOS 4 for testing). I would like to do a partial package mirror with os, updates, contrib branches and so on. Anybody knows if exists any tool for redhat based distros, like apt-proxy in debian world ( that donwloads packages on demmand), that supports this feature?? I see yam tool from dag repository, but it needs that do a full mirror ... and I don´t have as much disk space. An announce list is standard fare, not like we are talking about something that would be terrible to maintain here. Create a list that does not allow posts, send it a message when a new package is available. Boom, 0 administration, almost 0 storage, very little resources.
