automount[18592]: failed to mount /home/.hidden

Hi! My /var/log/messages files are being filled up with the following error... Sep 15 10:39:53 comp automount[15138]: >> mount: server:/home/.hidden failed, reason given by server: Permission denied Sep 15 10:39:53 comp automount[15138]: mount(nfs): nfs: mount failure server:/home/.hidden on /home/.hidden Sep 15 10:39:53 comp automount[15138]: failed to mount /home/.hidden What is /home/.hidden? Why can't it be mounted? And, can I simply delete it? Basically, what is this error from and how can I stop it from occurring? Thanks in advance for any help.

Also, Upi, people need more than work, they need work patterns. Making arch releases in a particular order is safer than an 'as available' order in many cases. So the particular order is 'i386 first'. If you were a (co)developer/tester/maintainer/distributor, your work pattern would be significant. So: Help row the boat, or (happily) enjoy the scenery. SunFire X2100 and X4100

Anyone seen either of these "in the wild" yet? RHEL3/RHEL4 are install options so I'm assuming CentOS will just work out of the box, but I thought I'd ask here. The 2100 seems like a viable alternative to whitebox 1RU boxes that we currently use, especially with the new dual core processors. Cheers,

Does Red Hat care about kernel bugs in CentOS?

In the course of troubleshooting a netfilter problem, I've run into a scenario where I can reliably generate an oops with the netfilter module(s). I generally like perusing the bugs on Red Hat's bugzilla system because I can usually find solutions or patches to issues I encounter there. In this case, I couldn't. What do CentOS users do when they discover bugs? Will Red Hat consider it? Do I file it against "Red Hat Enterprise 3" if I'm running CentOS 3.5? I'm concerned if things like System.map, etc. don't match between the RHEL kernel and the CentOS kernel. Any suggestions? Thanks, Greg

Can anyone tell me if there exists an rpm for netcdf-3.6.0-p1 for Centos x86-64? Also, are there any details of what was used to compile it, i.e., ifort, pgf, g77, etc. I'm looking for a version compiled with ifort... Sam -- Snowman

Hi, I played with the kickstart configuration editor today. (4.1) I the firewall section I dont see the controls for SELinux? AM I missing something? Where can I control that. I want to disable it in this case. Thanks, Jerry

4.1 x86_64 and stability

Dear All, I have previous posted on here before about some of the problems I have been have with various services in 4.1 particularly, PCMCIA, XFS, and Netowrk. I have a nf4x mobo with an amd semprom 3000+. The video card is an Asus radeon x500 (uses the x300 drivers). I have also tried fedora core 4 as well which the same repeatable results. Basically the problem is the services freeze when they start up, but if I removed them from init.d the computer starts fine and they start fine manually. Yet, when I get going I have several various ata errors, and lets not even think about running gnome which just locks up and hangs. My question is: is the hardware support for x86_64 as good as i386. I just installed i386 4.1 without a hang or any problems. thanks
