Rebuilding Raid 1

Trying a different approch. Senario Raid 1 setup Bootable raid drive failed Mirror has been working for almost a month and then rebooted Now can't boot mirror drive grub not mirrored from other drive. I Fixed bootable drive. Question? Can I hook up both drives and boot fixed drive then rebuilt mirror from nonbootable drive to bootable drive? Does the raid automatically rebuilt when I boot with both drives? Can I run a command to rebuilt from one drive to the other and visa versa I want to try it but I am worried that if I hook them up and it boots that because the bootable drive has older info it might over write the other drive. Thanks Can't seem to figure out how to get the other drive bootable.

Starting tomcat on bootup

I just installed Tomcat and when I run the chkconfig -add tomcat, it tells me that tomcat does not support chkconfig. Suggestions?

weird install issue

this existed in 4.2 and i hoped it would magically fix itself in 4.3, but no such luck. if you do a custom install and select the everything package (i'm lazy and don't care if i burn disk space :-), when it gets to cd 4, it will suddenly need disk 1 again to install the comps package and then go back to 4 for the rest of the install. it seems like the comps package would have been installed very early on in the process, so this seems very odd. i can look at the install log if that would do someone some good.

installing WIndows at end of disk

I have a functional CentOS system on which I need to install Windows for dual boot. I can make some space available on a high partition. Can WIndows be installed on partition 8 (starting with 1)? I have always done it on the first partition. Thanks, Tony Schreiner Boston College

Centos Test repository

I would like to express my appreciation to the maintainers of the CentOS distribution for the degree of thoroughness evidenced in the set up of the test repository at http://dev.centos.org. I was casting around for how to configure my yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo to handle a few packages that I must obtain from the test area (firefox, which seems to have moved since yesterday, and postgresql). I expected that at some point I would have to ask for help here on the list, but no, it turns out that my need was foreseen and provided for at: http://dev.centos.org/centos/4.2/CentOS-Testing.repo. Which, after suitably modifying with the addtion of an "includepkgs=" directive works beautifully. So instead of asking for help I am writing to thank you all. Regards, Jim P.S. Can't Configure USB ADSL Router

Hi All, I'm trying to get my Mother's ADSL USB Router to work on CentOS 4-3. I see the device in Hardware Browser/System devices but nowhere in Network Configuration is it an option. I even tried New/xDSL but it doesn't appear as an option there either. Any suggestions for this? Cheers. Mark Sargent.

How do I know the options which was compile openldap-servers-2.2.13-4.i386.rpm on my CentOS 4.3 or another rpm? I exactly want to know if the openldap package was compile with -- enable-ppolicy?? Regards Israel
