Yam not generating repomd.xml

I think I have obeyed the docs. Metadata in yam conf says repomd (formerly createrepo but led to "unexisting --update option" message). Conf is otherwise pretty close to examples. I have downloaded Centos 4.4 ISOs, I have done yam -gv, ISO files are correctly mounted and published via HTTP, etc but no xml files are generated anywhere under /var/www/yam. What am I overlooking? Can I have yam make repo metadata if I have ISO files as well? Removed Plus kernel, yum still wants to update plus kernel

I am trying to get off the plus kernel. Hasn't helped yet, and my MadWifi does not work with it. So I used YUMEX to remove all of the plus kernel cruft that I could see. I rebooted. ONly the standard kernel was listed in the boot menu (good sign). Start up Yumex, and it is showing that the plus kernel needs updating. Nothing on the regular kernel. Just yum update behaves the same. So where does yum keep its 'memory', so I can remove references to the plus kernel and get back to the regular kernel?????

Active/Passive Cluster

I'm setting up a mail server in an active/passive cluster. Does any know of a guide that details how to setup 2 linux servers connecting to the same data array? I'm planning on using heartbeat but I do not see any array configuration in the documentation. Thanks, Ed

OT: How to make files placed into FTP directory available via http

I'm hoping someone out there can tell me or direct me on where to find this info on how to make files placed into an ftp directory available via an url link in an email. I will have a staff member upload the files to a directory on my ftp server (which is also the web server) and the files would have to be automatically linked to a web directory, unless the files can be read directly from the ftp server. This needs to have no interaction from me and should be automagic..... Any and all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ed

How to get 4.3 updates without 4.4 upgrade

Well, I want to stay on an even keel, here with 4.3 for a week or two. I would like to update needed programs. Would also like to get a newer gnome! What are others doing here. Too much traffic, too much to read....

Kudzu is not recognizing my Atheros card. Actually I was having this problem with the plus kernel and I fell back to 2.6.9-34.0.2 Running on ethernet until I can figure out what to update.

Hello. I using evolution for email, and runs well, now the next that I would like is access to my email and evolution addressbook from everywhere. What should I install? there is any webmail that can use evolution settings? Or better a program for control that computer that I can access from any computer with a web browser?
