So, how do I obtain an appropriate UUID/GUID assigned to look at these shares? -- James B. Systems hangs on boot

Hi all, I've a AMD64 box with CentOS 4.4 and FreeBSD 6.1 installed. All worked fine until I installed webmin. Since webmin was installed, the system hangs during the boot process. Completely hangs: included the mouse, , no ctrl+alt+f(n) keycombo... The system hangs when try to load the webmin service, so I reboot with runlevel 1 and reconfigure the runlevel with chekconfig tool (I've deactivated the webmin service). And.. the systems works fine. Now (after 2/3 reboots) the systems shows the same problem, but in the HAL service. Under the kernel that came with CentOS (2.6.9) the controller works perfectly, it's only the 2.6.16 that comes with xen that produces trouble. Is there any more debug options I could activate to provide more details? I don't want to move away from xen although I've already tried (the) openvz (kernel), which works perfectly during high io load, but xen seems more sympathic to me. I hope this messy technical detail doesn't force me to change to a different product. DNS help: "unexpected rcode (SERVFAIL)"??

Recently I'm getting these errors on my slave when adding new domains: Sep 26 13:48:27 hosting named[1668]: zone wholesaletvtime.com/IN: refresh: unexpected rcode (SERVFAIL) from master 207.218.174.4#53 The master/slave transfers work for the other 1000+ domains that I have, just not the handful of new ones that I just added after the CentOS 4.3 -> 4.4 upgrade. I regenerated the rndc.conf file and added the control stuff to the /etc/named.conf file so 'rndc status' works on both machines. Cron also searches for /etc/crontab and the files in the /etc/cron.d direc- tory, which are in a different format (see crontab(5)). sendmail maillog rotation on centos 4

Hi, I'm trying to figure out which process is rotating my maillog every Sunday at 4:03 am. This happens on all of my centos 4 boxes. AFAICT, logrotate is not running. Bug in find command?

I'm going to bugz this if no one tells me I made another brain-damaged error here. Also, if I can get one confirmation, it'll let me breath easier. I ran a version searching for ".cmd" and ".c" just trying to convince myself I'm not *that* brain-damaged. You'd think after all these years that regex compilation would be pretty darn stable... Oh! Install Problem: No CDROM Boot in BIOS

I can't seem to find a way to boot the system using a boot floppy and then switch over to the installation CD's. Has anyone out there managed to load CentOS on a system that can't boot from the CDROM? Charles L.
