Squidguard and redirections

I don't have a web server on a machine running squid and squidgaurd and don't really want to add one. Is there a way to do something other than redirect in an acl, such that users could see why the page they are trying to get to is not available? Thanks! jlc

Anyone has gone to the trouble of creating an install initrd for 5.2 that has (a working) r8169 module built into it? Mainly for kickstarts. -Drew

rrdtool rpm and yum question

Logwatch - Dovecot logs

The question is why dont i see the remote host IP address here ? All other services shows the remote host ip except dovecot. The remote host ip is not present even in the /var/log/messages file Am i missing some option which would show me the remote host IP ? or dovecot in general doesnt log remote host ip or is it some specially crafted packet like the stealth scanning in nmap ? Wine on Centos 5.2 - "X Development Files"

Hi there, I am currently compiling wine (latest) on centos 5.2. My compiler had error'd out with "X development files not found". Now I had done a yum groupinstall "X Windows System" without any luck. I just don't want to have to install anything on top of what I need to. So what packages compose the "X development files"? d

Adobe plugin for firefox

I'm having an issue with workstation opening pdf's with firefox. I have the adobe plugin installed and enabled in firefox but firefox will only let me save the file. Under applications I have tried using the doc reader and adobe to associate pdf's with firefox with no luck. I am running firefox 3.0.4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you -- Bo Lynch

iptables questionson CentOS

Hi, I know these are a few iptbales questions. NOT CentOS, anyway, I am running a firewall on centos 5.x. If you can response, it would be fine. I want to add a SNAT rule for one user in LAN to access one particular destination on the internet. Let's say www.centos.org I added the below rule. But . it does NOT work Pls assume 1.2.3.4 is the real ip of the firewall. ip address 192.168.101.230 is the client PC iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -s 192.168.101.230 -j SNAT --to-source 1.2.3.4 -d www.centos.org Any idea to achieve it? And Also, the below rule excludes 1 ip. it works fine. iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -m multiport -s ! 192.168.1.9 --destination-port 80,465,995 -j DNAT --to-destination :3128 I want to exclude about 4 or 5 ips. let's say 192.168.1.11, 192.168.1.19, 192.168.1.20,192.168.1.25 Is there a way to do it? Problem after power failure: no more sound in Flash

Hi, I recently had a power failure, and since that, apparently the only problem I have is: flash videos in Firefox have no more sound. I tried to reinstall both firefox and flash-plugin, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Niki Kovacs

suspend/resume system crash

Hi all, I've installed CentOS 5.2 i386 (with all updates) on notebook Fujutsu Siemens Esprimo U9200 Suspending works normal, but after resuming my system crashes. There are no messages about that in /var/log/messages, only after reboot system I see in gnome: " Resume Problem Your system did not appear to resume correctly from Suspend/Hibernate.
