Modify kickstart initrd to add Buslogic driver

Hi I have a running kernel with the same kernel version of that in the kickstart that contains the Buslogic driver which would enable me to install a vmware client using kickstart. Is there an 'easy' way to take the initrd that contains the correct drivers and inject these into the initrd of the kickstart kernel? Or does anyone have a kickstart initrd available with the Buslogic drivers for an 2.6.9-55.ELsmp kernel? thanks Tom

No installed updated kernels via yum

Subject says it all. Running yum install kernel or yum install kernel-2.6.18-53.1.13.el5.i686.rpm gives "nothing to do". Yum runs daily via cron. About postgresql tcpip connection

hello everybody i´m trying to connect to my postgresql via tcpip and it thow an error is not accepting tcp-ip connections I ask to google but i dont find the solution, people said about the prostgresql.conf enable tcpip, I try but when i start the service it thow an error. enigmail 0.94.3 on centos-4.6 x86_64 not working

Hi I have tried to install/setup enigmail 0.94.3 on centos-4.6 x86_64 with no success. Either thunderbird (1.5.0-12) crashes on startup, or it writes "error in accessing enigmail service" I have tried it with a clean thunderbird profile with no success to. The download and installation works and enigmail is shown as an extension. gpg is installed and the path is configuerd in enigmail Has anybody success using enigmail on centos-4.6 x86_64 ? regards Hansjörg

CentOS5 installation crashes

Im installing CentOS5.1 on an Acer Aspire 5021 laptop with AMD Turion64 and ATI X700 128MB gfx card. I want to partition my 80MB ATA disk as LVM, so I: Choose custom partition. delete all existing partitions. add one LVM vg partition taking up entire disk. I do not change any default options. I then click the LVM button to add my logical volumes as follows: 5GB / 8GB /home 5GB /tmp 4GB /var 1GB swap all are ext3 partitions. I exit the LVM dialogue and click Next to continue with the partitioning, and... it all crashes. I get a debug error box with lots of unintelligible errors that I am completely unfamiliar with. I click OK on the error dialogue and the installation freezes and I can only power off with the button. PAE Kernel doesn´t boot

hi @all, i´m having big problems implementing a pae-kernel. i´m using centos5 on following hw intel core2duo 2,66 e6750 gigabyte p35-ds3p board 8 gb ram 4 * samsung_sata_hd501lj nvidia geforce 8500gt i can use a xen-pae kernel without having problems, but as i need to run vmware, it´s not a valid option to keep that kernel. the default kernel (which supports only up to 4gb ram) works fine, too. as soon as i boot a pae kernel the system stops booting at the point: "udev starting". i also can´t install the 64-bit version of centos5. i´ve tried the following kernels 2.6.18-53.1.4.el5PAE 2.6.18-53.el5PAE 2.6.18-53.1.6.el5PAE 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5PAE 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5xen 2.6.18-53.1.6.el5xen any suggestions??? tia!!! tom

Hi all, After the latest lot of kernel security updates have come out, I updated one of my colo boxes and rebooted. It didn't come back up and fails when booting on: * CPU Microcode update * iptables * eth0 The booting process completes, however as you can imagine, there is no network connectivity at all. The only config changes were installing the new kernel. Booting back into 2.6.18-8.1.8.el5 make things work 100% again. The system is a dual P3 1Ghz with an e100 network card. Has anyone else come across this? Apache2 crashes, MySQL uses upto 90% CPU

Hi everyone, I am running CentOS 4.6 and use the centosplus repo. Apache version 2.0.59 and MySQL 5.0.54 and for the past few days Apache 2 has been crashing randomly. The CPU usage has been maxing out (The machine has 2 x Xeon processors, with 4Gb RAM) and there are many httpd processes that appear to be defunct. I read around and found that logrotate may be crashing Apache if it doesn't quit in time. I have performance tuned MySQL to cache queries, modified php.ini not to use too many persistent connections, restricted the number of connections that Apache will answer to. Top says: 8136 mysql 16 0 202 51:55.73 5.7 680m 225m 5352 S mysqld Is there anyone else experiencing similar things? Any suggestions? Screen blacks b/w window changes

Is there a setting that can be changed that keeps the screen from going black when changing between?
