vncviwer in listen mode poer number

I am working on the Centos wiki instructions for doing an install via vnc: http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/VncHeadlessInstall CD is all burned and ready to go. I then thought about the viewer settings particularly the port number and firewall rules. When I connect vncviewer to a vncserver it uses port(s) 590n where n is the display number. OK, is that what happens when a server connects back to a -listen viewer? Seems not. According to the man page, it seems the default is port 5500, so I have to open up this port on the 'client' system and of course allow it through my internal firewall (or put the install system on the same subnet as the client and not the one with the repo server). Do I this figured out right?

There were a ton of replies to the DKIM thread so I thought I'd chip in with what Yahoo have stated on their website, Q What are some best practices when sending to Yahoo! Mail? A http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/postmaster-15.html Apologies if this has been mentioned before in the 300 or so replies to that topic but problems sending mail to Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail are best served, by looking at the FAQ's for those service providers. I'm trying to install swatch using rpmbuild. I'm getting dependency errors saying that I need perl(Date::Calc), perl(Date::Format), and perl(File::Tail). I've been beaten over the head in this group for using CPAN. So methodology do I use to I install those modules? === Al

Update troubles for wxGTK apps

Hi, I have a CentOS 5.2 desktop with the RPMForge repo enabled. I just ran 'yum update', and there seems to be some trouble with the wxGTK apps. Shell script to list group members

I have several shell scripts to manage user accounts on a server. I've been using a file with the usernames of peoples accounts that any script needs to process. I had a thought that I can and should be setting up groups and adding user accounts to those groups so I don't have to maintain a set of files with the user accounts. So essentially, I am looking for a (simple) shell command to run from a bash script that will allow me to list user accounts that belong to a particular group. Any help is appreciated.

NFS issues

So I'm running nfs to get content to my web servers. Now I've had this problem 2 times (about 2 weeks since the last occurrence). I use drbd on the nfs server for redundancy. Now to my problem: All my web sites stopped responding so I started by checking dmesg and there I found a bunch of this errors || Aug 11 16:00:39 web03 kernel: lockd: server 192.168.20.22 not responding, timed out Aug 11 16:02:39 web03 kernel: lockd: server 192.168.20.22 not responding, timed out But when checking the nfs server lockd was running and I could access all the files from the webserver with ls, cd etc. The logs on the nfs server doesn't say anything of interest and checking apaches error_log just says "not found or unable to stat". Now I mentioned this have happened 2 times and both these times I've "solved" it by rebooting the nfs server and web servers. This isn't a good solution to have to reboot my servers every couple of weeks so I really could use some help. :) Also I get this from time to time on the web servers, dunno if it's related. /do_vfs_lock: VFS is out of sync with lock manager! /
