OT: Digital Video Editor for CentOS 5.2 - Suggestions?

We are finally going to replace our VHS-C Camcorder, with a Digital Camcorder, tomorrow. Looking for suggestions, for Digital Video Editor to use on CentOS 5.2. Preferably, something in the CentOS or RPMForge repositories and easy to use. TIA!

The wiki has a long procedure for installing Sun JDK 1.6 but not JRE. What's the benefit to installing the JDK this way (repackaging it)? Thanks! jlc

OFF Topic - Looking for web based file management application for law firm & clients

Hi All: I am working with a law firm that would like to offer to it's clients the ability to access their documents through a web interface. This would require a nice gui to offer the clients with a simple process for the clients to download from. It would also need to be secure (authentication & SSL), and mandatory disclaimer acceptance before logging into their account. Anyone with experience or thoughts on this matter? Thanks, Ed

Yum update conflicts perl-Math-BigInt

I followed the Wiki instructions for setting up *yum-priorities*. I added the rpmforge repo I installed clamd without a problem. Now when I go to update I get conflicts with perl-Math-BigInt. Is the only solution to uninstall the base version and then install the rpmforge version? According the the wiki "Packages from repositories with a lower priority will never be used to upgrade packages that were installed from a repository with a higher priority." If this true why the conflicts? please advise Thanks Dan

Missing latest kmod-xfs and kmod-drbd82?

Since December there have been several kernel updates to the centosplus repository for centos4... but no updates to kmod-xfs or kmod-drbd82. Latest kernel is 2.6.9-78.0.13.plus.c4, but latest kmod-xfs is 2.6.9_78.0.5.plus.c4. Latest drbd82 kmod is also for 78.0.5. I know there was a mention on the list that these modules are not kernel dependent anymore... but yum and rpm seem to indicate otherwise, and trying to install kmod-xfs-smp or update kmod-drbd82-smp on my servers is not possible. $ rpm -qRp kmod-xfs-smp-0.4-1.el4.2.6.9_78.0.5.plus.c4.x86_64.rpm /bin/sh /bin/sh /sbin/depmod /sbin/depmod kernel-smp-x86_64 = 2.6.9-78.0.5.plus.c4 rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1 rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1 rpmlib(VersionedDependencies) <= 3.0.3-1 Above, the last available version of the module shows a dependency on the 78.0.5 kernel. These modules will of course also install in the wrong /lib/modules/ location. I've over the last two months opened tickets on bugs.centos.org on the issue (tickets 3360, 3316, 3291). However, these tickets are still new and have had no comments. Anyone have any advice on dealing with the missing RPMs or the dependency issue? Thanks in advance. -Alan

If I use "system-config-display" or "system-config-display --reconfig" although I get a message that I need to log out of GNOME, to have the new file written, for new Display Resolution, logging out or restarting the box does not result in the new settings for the Display taking hold. Sometimes, the number of colors is updated, but *never* the Resolution. Below is my xorg.conf file. What do I need to include in xorg.conf for the resolution to be 1280 x 1024 instead of the current 1600 x 1200? Display is a Dell M991 and the Video Card is shown as Nvidia NV11 (GeForce2 MX/MX400). CentOS 5.2 (32 bit) fully updated. Port Forwarding

I'm having trouble getting port forwarding working on my one box. I have 2 incoming internet connections. I have 2 servers on these connections. pubinternet privinternet eth0:x.x.x.x eth0:y.y.y.y eth1:10.10.10.1 eth1:10.10.10.4 I need to be able to port forward traffic from y.y.y.y to the box on 10.10.10.1. I have my firewall configured (I use gshield) but 10.10.10.1 does not seem to answer when I try and test. I use gshield all the time for other servers with only 1 connection, and it works awesome. I can't seem to get it to forward traffic from y.y.y.y to 10.10.10.1. 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.4 are connected together with a switch, and I am able to telnet to 10.10.10.1 from 10.10.10.4 on port 25. Is there some step with networking that I am missing in getting this to work? Thanks. -- -=/>Thom

Dear All, i am using squid-2.5STABLE Below error message occurs if the site is accessed through proxy server. same problem occurs for many other sites likes dkc1.digikey.com But the same site opens clearly without any problem if accessed directly.
