Hi, I'm looking for a repository of PHP-5.3 compatible with the requirements of Zend http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/requirements.html requirements.extensions, repos are being upgraded, that repo is exist or any way is a compilation of php from source? For@ll

Help With Glade and C5 64-bit?

I have a user with C5.4 64-bit, fully updated, performed a yum install glade, it claimed to have installed everything, but we cannot get it to run. Neither whereis nor locate revleal an executable. We obtained the latest glade source from the project's web site, attempted to configure it, until it complained of needed dependencies, namely gtk+ (newer than what was on the system). So I got the newest source from the gtk project web site, tried to compile it, until it complained of at least needing a newer glib. So I grabbed the newest glib, compiled and installed, ran ldd, and tried gtk+ source compile again. I still claimed glib wasn't new enough. What am I missing? I followed the glade install notes as best I could. Thanks for any help/insight. If need be, I'll look for a glade forum to post to, but since this _is_ Centos 5 spedific for the machine I'm working on, I felt it appropriate to ping this list first. Thanks. Scott

Silly question x64 vs i386

I have a really silly question... but just want to ask... I have one box on my home network that is x86_64 capable... My other boxes are all i386. As this x86_64 machine can, at most, house 4 GB of RAM (currently only has 1 GB) - is there any advantage to my running x86_64 on that machine instead of i386... Long story as to why I am asking - but before I go off and moveit down to i386 - just wanted some opinions :) Scot P. Problems with nss_ldap - where to start?

I've been unsuccessfully trying to get nss_ldap to work. I've chased down hundreds of google searches over the last 3 days, and I can't seem to get a centos system to authenticate against ldap. Every daemon on the system is running into the same problem: nss_ldap: could not search LDAP server - Server is unavailable sshd, nscd, httpd, you name it.. slapd is clearly running, telnet localhost 389 actually connects me to it. I've run authconfig, /etc/sysconfig/authconfig agrees. I'm at a complete and utter loss. I've followed every how-to out there, RH, Openldap, Debian, FreeBSD I can verify ldap is working, I can't seem to get any PAM applications to use it. acpi for Intel p45 chipset (C2Duo)

Hello, First time I install Centos (5.4) on a consumer Intel Motherboard. I've done 5+ AMD (am2 form factor) installs. The MB is Gigabyte ep45-ud3r with a CPU:Intel LGA 775 E7600 wolfdale I cracked the lm_sensors nut with 2 modules and lm_sensors from elrepo. The modules were kmod-coretemp kmod-it87 Now I'm trying to get cpuspeed to behave, or at least understand what it's doing. Here's my bios objects ------------ snip dmesg--------- $sudo dmesg | grep state ACPI: CPU0 (power states: C1[C1] C2[C2] C3[C3]) ACPI: Processor [CPU0] (supports 8 throttling states) ACPI: CPU1 (power states: C1[C1] C2[C2] C3[C3]) ACPI: Processor [CPU1] (supports 8 throttling states) ---------- unsnip ---------- In the advanced bios menu I enabled all the switches for CPU state management. If not enabled there is no acpi. My CPU is OC'ed to 3.74 Ghz The Intel state management hands it off to the kernel with max frequency of 2.8Ghz but bogoMips is unchanged and reflects OC'ed value. There are supposed to be 8 throttling states, but acpi-cpufreq (driver) only uses 3 states (1.6 Ghz - 2.8 Ghz). Has anyone found another driver to work better? I tried speedstep-centrino but it refuses to load. There is also p4-clockmod too, but I had doubts about it. Is this the best I can do? So far benchmarks are very good and the acpi power management does not hurt them. -- Mark

Munin issue

Hey Guys, I am trying to wrap some loose ends up before we close tomorrow and have one last thing. I have been asked to monitor tunnel bandwidth for vpn clients over the holidays and whipped up a quick Munin plugin to do this. It works well but one problem is that when a client disconnects, the plugin stops submitting graph data for it, so the png's don't show the user anymore, kinda hard to see what's been done over the time period they "were" connected. How can I tell Munin to retain the data it has seen? I would rather this approach then hardcode the users in, as I have to manually maintain that list then... Thanks! jlc

Hi folks I have a Centos 5.3. I'm wondering how can I make this linux box to act as a time server for my small network. I just need this Centos PC act as a time reference for the other PCs so they can keep the time exact the same as the Centos server. Don;t need to syncronize the server with tyhe internet, just keep my local network with the same time in all the PC. Thanks in advance David
