extend raid volume - new drive

I was wondering how to go about (if possible) to add this drive to my existing partitions with LVM. Now I never setup this system (Another person had), and if i am reading the above right, it appears as though they did not use LVM for the raid. The system has the OS on a standalone drive, the home folder is on the two raided drives. I was hoping to extend my home folder to take advantage of my new drive. Recommendations? d

Reset audio controller w/o rebooting?

As I mentioned on a thread about flash-plugin a few days ago, I'm having trouble with my sound device getting "stuck" and thereby causing problems for anything that accesses it, like video playback. Rebooting the machine "fixes" it for a while, but it's unpredictable for how long -- sometimes months go by without it recurring, sometimes it happens every couple of days. Right now I'm in one of the latter phases. Any suggestions on how I could reset the controller without having to reboot? (Or suggestions for where else I might ask this question?) Below is output from "lshw" for the audio controller, and "lsmod" for the sound modules that are loaded. Port Forwarding woes

I'm having some port forwarding issues issues with iptables. We are using iptables as a firewall with 2 nics and on ip alias. I'm trying to port forward on the alias ip eth0 = 65.x.x.1 eth0:1 = 65.x.x.2 eth1 = 192.168.x.x I'm wanting to forward certain ports(80,5071...etc) that makes request on eth0:1 IP 65.x.x.2 to forward to internal IP 192.168.x.x. I have setup the following rules but I must be doing something wrong. iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -i eth0 -d 65.x.x.2 --dport 80 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.x.x:80 iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -i eth0 -d 65.x.x.2 --dport 5071 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.x.x:5071 iptables -A FORWARD -p tcp -i eth0 -d 192.168.x.x --dport 80 -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -p tcp -i eth0 -d 192.168.x.x --dport 5071 -j ACCEPT Any help would be greatly appreciated. One for the Cisco experts...

I have a Cisco 6509 switch that I'm monitoring with SNMP from a CentOS5 machine. SNMP polls are the only access I have to this device, we are not allowed to log on via telnet. How can I find out which port on the switch a particular server is connected to? I was hoping that this is somehow possible using the mac address and the data gathered from snmpwalk/snmpget requests but I'm not having much luck. How would you tackle this problem?

Hi all I am using cents 5.3 on a gigabyte motherboard MA78GM-US2H. When installing centos using kickstart I get prompted to load a driver. I select the ata_piix driver and everything continues as normal. Is there a way in kickstart or the boot command prompt line to specify loading the ata_piix module automatically? Why isnt the kernel loading it automatically? I dont recall having to ever do that before in 5.2 Thanks, Jerry

The Fedora version of RHCS is called Dogtag <http://pki.fedoraproject.org/wiki/PKI_Main_Page> You might have to modify/rebuild their SRPMS. Yes, i came across dogtag. However i got the impression it was something in the same category like tinyca or pyca. Perhaps it is based on the code of RHCS, and all documentation is just some wiki pages. Bit different from the docu from RHCS-7.3 (Their admin guide is over 600 pages) I was asked to make a proposal for an (large) opensource CA/RA/ocsp/.... If selected, i make them order an official package with support from RH. But i would like to have some hands-on experience before, and not get all my information from paper. OpenCA has also quite some nice docu (but doesn't live up to it), and used to be included in some distro's.
