Squid proxy as a Gateway Server

Hi all, Good Day for all, I need Help to Setup Squid proxy as a Gateway Server. The Idea is to use the (Server and Gateway) configured with Squid to run using AUTH_Pam or AUTH_ncsa , but additionally we need to filter some access via group, following the standard filter group used Filter Group 1 - blocked users (no access) Filter Group 2 - standard users (standard access rights) Filter Group 3 - guest users (limited access rights) Filter Group 4 - power users (more generous access & file download rights) Filter Group 5 - admin users (unlimited access) So in this cases all users are authenticated by the Server Only when their try to access internet, they received access denied if user is has no access based on group membership. Missing Thunderbird Updates

Hello, I recently noticed that Thunderbird updates are missing from CentOS 5. First, I noticed that Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 is available in the "updates" repo of CentOS 5.2, but not on the "updates" repo of CentOS 5.3. The version in the "os" repo of CentOS 5.3 is 2.0.0.18. - Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 in CentOS 5.2 updates repo: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5.2/updates/i386/RPMS/thunderbird-2.0.0.19-… - Thunderbird 2.0.0.18 in CentOS 5.3 os repo: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5.3/os/i386/CentOS/thunderbird-2.0.0.18-1.e… - No Thunderbird in CentOS 5.3 updates repo: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5.3/updates/i386/RPMS/ Then I went upstream to confirm which versions were available there. To my surprise, I found out that there is a src rpm for Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 that dates from March 22. - Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 SRPM in RHEL 5Client: ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/5Client/en/os/SRPMS/thunde… CentOS Developers, could you please build the RPMs for the latest version 2.0.0.21, and investigate why the issue with 2.0.0.19 not being present in the "updates" repo 5.3 happened, and why the new package 2.0.0.21 was not rebuilt even though it dates from more than one month ago? Double packages

Hello, i'm trying install some packages with x64_86 architecture and got same packages doubling (32 and 64 bits). How can i force yum just install packages x64_86 based? Cron for spamassassin

Hi all, Question: Do you run the cron.d for updating spamassassin that came with the distro (centos 5.x)? I tried doing it when it was first set up and it just kept failing. Although set to run, neither sa-update logs nor cron logs show any activity at all on this cron. And thus I usually do it by hand, running sa-update -D on the command line every week or so. The cron.d/sa-update file is chmod 0600 and owned by root. The contents are as was installed -------------------------------- 10 4 * * * root /usr/share/spamassassin/sa-update.cron 2>&1 | tee -a /var/log/sa-update.log -------------------------------- When running the cron manually from the command line, it says: -------------------------------- /etc/cron.d/sa-update: line 9: 10: command not found --------------------------------- And the cron log will say ------------------------------- "May 18 18:56:01 mail crond[3919]: (*system*) BAD FILE MODE (/etc/cron.d/sa-update)" ------------------------------- All research online and in bugs only refer to an old syntax error that is no longer in the code. I did find quite a few posts from people all over the web that this was not working for them. Not one was fixed or resoved. I tired making the cron 0755 but that did not change anything. I could find no bug reports on this on either rhel or centos. So, I was just thinking about making a crontab to run sa-update daily and see if that works. I would like to use as intended though. Has anyone experienced this problem, and has anyone figured out what is wrong? Thanks in advance.

What happened to http://www.spampoison.com/ ? Does anybody know a good site, that makes similar activity? I mean to "fight" against spam? Like putting a link to a site, and that link points to another site, what's full with False email addresses :) Thank you

CentOS 5.3 - bonding 'error' but everything works fine

Shell Script Pointers?

Hey Listee's I am trying to write a shell script to sort and compare my blacklist for squidGuard with the nightly updates that come down in a tar ball. It should be rather simple but I'm not to grate at this. The script is to run nightly, it will download the latest blacklist tarball, un tar it and then add any new entries to the existing black list. The blacklists work by having a folder for each filtered category so the folder "db" contains the subfolders "adult", "gambling", "drugs" etc and each sub folder has two files, "domains" and "urls" (pretty self explanitory).
