I'm not at a centos desktop at the moment, so I can't check, but it should be a menu entry in konqueror. It is, however, creating a static gallery. And installation is very, very simple. upload the files to your websever, add a MySQL database, and run the installation.php script - very easy. Web photo gallery options

Hi all, I'm looking for a web photo gallery for my personal web server at home. Till now I've done the galleries manually from Adobe Photoshop Elements, but I feel that is a dead end, kinda', besides the fact that the galleries created are rather static. I'd like an easier way to do this, eg uploading images in folders directly to the gallery and it will take care of what needs to be done automagically, like resizing etc. So far I've come across a project called Gallery2, that seems to do what I want. Downside is that no rpm-packages are available with yum with this one. What web photo gallery software do you guys use? My requirements are only that the software should be simple to install, maintain and add more photos. I'm not a pro (a newbie more like it...) when it comes to mysql and php, so this needs to be easy to do as well, from the gallery standpoint. oVirt on CentOS 5.3?

Hi, Has anyone been succesful in installing oVirt on CentOS 5.3? While it looks like a greate virtualization package, they only support FC10, and the installation instructions are for FC9. So, has anyone installed it on CentOS yet? Make sshd log IP addresses, not hostnames

Can I adjust the ssh daemon to log IP addresses instead of hostnames? I assume this situation is feasible... * 10.10.10.10 attempts to ssh to the server * reverse dns resolves to "somehost.domain.com" * ssh daemon logs "somehost.domain.com" in messages * foward dns on "somehost.domain.com" resolves to 10.10.10.20 Thus it causes some of my scripts a problem if the DNS resolutions don't match. It would be nice if it could just log IP addresses only. Thanks, Scott

i may be in the position of recommending that a sizable client take a look at centos as a supported platform in the near future, but if one goes to the "Support" -> "Commercial Support" page, it reads: This Section or Page is coming soon. that is *not* going to give this client any warm fuzzies. from a promotion perspective, either that page should get some actual content, or the link should be dropped entirely. or something. rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P. I would suggest the following change: -------------------------------------------------------------------- Currently the Centos Project cannot endorse any specific support offering and does not directly offer commercial support. Support is available from third party consultants and firms. Volunteer support is available via IRC (channel #centos), Centos mailing lists and the Centos forums. --------------------------------------------------------------------- I would avoid making any promises like "we are working on a support program" or "working on an endorsement program" simply because there is no telling when such a program would get rolled out. Keeping people waiting around for a long time is not so good for the Centos image. FWIW, I think we should lighten up on the original poster. He asked a simple question, he got an answer. Program to ban sniffers

So I have been reading the ssh attack thread and finally want to ask about something. I doubt there is a program like this, but I would love to have a program that listens at common ports that I do not use at all...and only allow that program to listen to it, especially the usual ssh port (using a different one for real ssh)... That program would then, upon receiving a 'sniff' or 'user' would then add that ip to the deny hosts lists..for either a long or short time. Using this would seem like a win as you can easily grab someone before they can get somewhere one hopes. Also, by opening up a few other ports that are unusual like 8561....well, if someone sniffs that it could be a 3 day ban or a month... In other words, anyone hitting those ports that are not being used at all except by our sniff protector, would allow instant banning. So...does something like this exist?
