Ping time resolution

Hi! We have encountered a rather weird problem on a machine that we use for our network latency check (smokeping with fping). For an hour (or so) after boot it reports the ping time with a microsecond accuracy (ad it should). Then the millisecond accuracy starts. We have yet to identify the cause and the logs currently do not show anything. Please find an example of a good and a bad result below. aborting installation of CentOS

During installation if due to some reason one wants to abort the installation then is the only way to do it is to switch off the system by pressing the power button, then switch on by pressing the power button and pressing the optical drive eject button to take out the DVD?

xen backup script

hello, I have a couple of longish commands that I run to backup my network of xen hosts. black display during installation of CentOS5.5

During installation of CentOS5.3 from DVD, the installation was interuppted due to an error in a rpm package as the DVD had lot of scratches. So I burned image of CentOS5.5 on DVD. I selected installation in graphical mode. The first graphical interface screen comes from where we proceed further by clicking next. This screen is almost black and its impossible to carry out further installation as visibility is very poor.

Another wireless problem

Hi folks I have my Linksys WUSB54GC USB wifi card already working. Now I have another issue. Accidentally I tuned off my AP, and when switched it on again my wireless link is still down. I have to unplug the USB card and plug it again to get it working again. I'm new in wireless matter but this doesn't sounds logical to me. What if I loose the link for whatever reason? Should I have to unplug my usb card and plug it again? I don't think so, right? So, wich is the workaround here? Maybe there is a service I'm noy running wich detects the when the link comes up and conect automatically again? Thanks in advance David

Trying to get xen to boot off of an iso or a sysresc image so I can expand a filesystem to the extent of the LVM's free space.

I have a Xen LVM based VM with two partitions: /dev/VolGroup00/vm01p1 /dev/VolGroup00/vm01p2 p2 is about 50GB, I gave it's LVM an extra 30 or so using lvextend. How can I extend the partition to fill my free space and the filesystem? I don't mind offline, if I can get Xen to boot off an alternative media. I want to update the system because I haven't updated CentOS5.3 from the time when I installed it. But I am also afraid of directly using "yum update" command. I used "yum list updates" but theres a error displayed which I have already posted.
