Build Issue with multi module project

Hi, I have a multi module web project. Four modules of the project are packaged as jar and added as dependency to the fifth module, which is packaged as war. When it is time to deploy the application i just run package on the war project and my war is created with all the dependencies. Now there is a problem. One of the my module have heavy changes. Now when i created war for my projects these changes was not reflected in the output war file(the jar in lib folder of war has still the old code). Can you please point the things i am missing from the release process? Why the old code is being packaged with the war? Regards, Vijay Shanker Dubey

Kernel Panic Help

I have a CentOS 5.4 64 bit server running on a supermicro motherboard. It kernel paniced last night. http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?c51cb1be89.jpg Any ideas? Its running the latest version of Squid available with yum. Memory issue? Would adding: kernel.panic = 10 to: /etc/sysctl.conf Have caused it to reboot after 10 seconds instead of just sitting there? iptables info in proc - ttl

Hello List, I am having problem in getting iptables recent module working for me, so I was looking into /proc to get some clues. I see following line in the /proc for my iptables recent rule: # cat /proc/net/ipt_recent/badguy src=10.0.0.17 ttl: 63 last_seen: 3301974512 oldest_pkt: 2 3301973507, 3301974512 What does ttl mean? Is it time-to-live or what? What does it signify? -- CS

Kernel panic due to vg00 not found while not using LVM at all

Hi, I have a system running CentOS4.8. Last month I installed the latest updates including kernel 2.6.9-89.0.23 and rebooted the system. It has been running for almost a month. Last night I updated the system again which updated only a few packages: openssl, tzdata, curl,vixie-cron and logrotate. No new kernel or anything out of ordinary. The reboot after the update stopped with kernel panic: --<snip>-- Loading dm-snapshot.ko module Making device-mapper control node Scanning logical volumes Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while... Activating logical volumes Volume group vg00 not found ERROR: /bin/lvm exited abnormaly! Creating root device --<snip>-- After that it's trying to mount root and it fails with kernel panic. This system is using disk partitions. It's not using LVM. I can boot in rescue mode and "chmod /mnt/sysimage". All partitons are there and mountable. No fsck errors. I checked /boot/grub/grub.conf and it looks fine to me. The time stamp was from last month when I did the first update. Also there are no new files in /boot since the update from last month. Why is it looking for logical volumes? Any idea? Thanks Peter

CentOS press kit

Hey Looking at the Fedora ML there is some commotion about a Press Kit [1] they are constructing. I am thinking about doing something like this for CentOS. Now comes my question, what do people think should belong in such a kit. Do you think this is needed? vsftpd saving uploads twice

I have configured my vsftpd instances to use virtual users and map them to a system user. So all uploads should be written with owner and group of this system user (let's call it ftpsystemuser). But in the the last weeks/months it appears that uploads are written twice, on instance as it should (owner and group of the system user used to map the virtual user that did the upload), and the other instance as root. Lik this: > -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 19968 16. Mär 11:24 Termine > Leistungspr%FCfungen.doc > -rw-r--r-- 1 ftpsystemuser ftpsystemuser 19968 16. Mär 11:24 Termine > Leistungspr?fungen.doc As you can see both instance use different syntax for the file name in case of German umlauts. In vsftpds log only the correct file is mentioned. Can anybody tell me what is happening here? Is this something I can get rid off using certain configuration? Is it a security problem? Any hint or help is appreciated. Dirk

Question about dhcpd.leases

Hi, I'm running a DHCP server on my local network. I've noticed something that puzzles me. Leases are written to /var/lib/dhcpd/dhcpd.leases, but only - so it seems to me - if the address is not fixed in any way in dhcpd.conf. Here's a few stanzas of my dhcpd.conf : host babasse { hardware ethernet 00:0d:61:ae:6b:8f; fixed-address 192.168.1.1; option host-name "babasse"; } host bernadette { hardware ethernet 00:0d:61:a6:e7:1e; fixed-address 192.168.1.2; option host-name "bernadette"; } host raymonde { hardware ethernet 00:20:ed:b8:e8:ec; fixed-address 192.168.1.3; option host-name "raymonde"; } host lifebook { hardware ethernet 00:0b:5d:46:f2:10; fixed-address 192.168.1.5; option host-name "lifebook"; } How comes these machines never appear in dhcpd.leases ? No ulimit for user

Bash Question

Hey guys, messing around with a snippet from a mailing list post, #!/bin/bash mkfifo -m 666 /var/spool/my_fifo exec 42<> /var/spool/my_fifo while true do while read -t 5 data <&42 do echo "data is ($data)" done echo "read again" done What happens to this to invalidate the initial 'true' condition, it only runs for a short while?
