Backup KVM / Qemu on Virt-Manager

Hi guys, I have a CentOS system with virt-manager installed on it, the system is installed on a LVM partition with one PV for swap and one for "/", I only use KVM and qemu virtual machine on this server, I want to do a backup from my Virtual Machines on this server should I use LVM backup or an other stuff to do these backups ? what should I do ? stopping all VM before backup (I think) then do a LVM backup all help is appreciated -- Cordialement, / Greetings, Georghy FUSCO

Strange 'find' misbehaviour

how to upgrade gtk on centos 4.8

Hello, My centos is 4.8 while I need gtk 2.8 or later. How to upgrade GTK? I'm trying to upgrade manually based on RPMs on 5.X, there are too many decencies when upgrading libX. Is there anybody can give some suggestion to enlighten me? Thanks. - Tommy

Hello, I need to use wxPython-src-2.8.10.1 with GraphicContext support which requires gdk_cario_xxx APIs introduced from GTK 2.8. Is there any easy way to upgrade gtk since there are lots of dependences? I ever tried yum but it can not upgrade GTK. Thanks. - Tommy

(OT) OpenOffice.org calc chart strangeness.

I am attempting to create a simple line chart graphing three columns from a soffice-calc spreadsheet. I expect it to take the leftmost column as the X-Axis, plotting the others on the Y-Axis, but it always creates an X-Axis of the row number in the columns, and the first column amongst the data. I have tried this on OpenOffice.org 3.2.0, NeoOffice(R) 3.0.2 Patch 2, iWork Pages, and Excel 12.2.4 in Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. It does what I expect in iWork Pages and M$-Excel, but not in the various incantations of OpenOffice.org. I OO-calc has gone to a fancy wizard thingy that doesn't seem to have any way to specify details for the X-Axis, and I can't find anything useful in the on-line documentation. Does anybody know how one gets this to work in OpenOffice.org? The Linux tie-in is that I'm getting data from a postgresql database that lives on a Linux box, and none of the fancy commercial products seem to be able to use it in their data sources. On the other hand, I have written a python script that extracts the data from the postgresql database and creates the pretty reports using groff and gplot totally on Linux which is faster in any case for my current problem. Hi folks I'm trying to use a Netgear WG111-2 USB-wifi adapter on a Centos 5.3 Box. Someone has done it? It seems not to be supported by the kernel. Thanks David

Disc Cloning Question

I have a server with a stock install scheme with the exception that /boot and / are on two md raid 1 mirrors over two discs. I need to remove those two large discs and replace them with smaller discs. Given the lvm over md, and big to small scenario, anyone know any automated app that can do this? I don't want to spend the time to resize the ext3 partition, the vg etc and re-mirror manually... Thanks! jlc
