how to install Atheros AR5008 on CentOS 5.5 in console-only mode?

Hi all, I hope someone can help me. I'm trying to setup a D-Link DWA-547 on CentOS 5.5 x64 in console only mode, i.e. there's no X installed. The Wiki article suggests using NetWork Manager, but since there's no X installed on this server, it's not possible. How do I go about installing this card? JBD: failed to read block at offset

Im getting errors like JBD: failed to read block at offset 4360 on a raid 5 parition , have run several fcsk on it.... are these Journal errors recoverable? OT -- apcupsd messages

Does anyone here have any "feel" for the "Battery disconnected" and "Battery reattached" log entries? The rebooting came as a result of me turning off modems, router, external drives, monitor, cordless phone and finally, the computer, trying to locate a quiet but annoying "chirp". The "chirps" stopped when I tilted the UPS to look at the front panel. As you can see, log entries stopped at as suddenly as they started. NAT via /etc/sysconfig/iptables

Hello listmates, It's been a few years since I've set up a router... and for some reason I seem to be getting hung up on this one. Does anybody have a sample iptables config file that would incorporate NAT and forwarding for a simple router? Thanks. Boris.

How to dual boot Linux (CentOS 5.3) and Windows 7

Hi,all : Of course I am new to Linux and dual booting but I want to learn so here is my question. I already have my hard drive partitioned into 3 partitions (60G and 150GB and 150GB) and I already have Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (RC) installed on my computer. My question is, how can I install CentOS 5.4 64-bit (or any other version of linux) on the third partition? Is this even possible? Thanks in advances ....

Blowfish issues with somewhat big files

Hi, I've encrypted some database dumps with openssl bf -d -in dumpfile.bf -out dumpfile -k mykey bad decrypt 14142:error:06065064:digital envelope routines:EVP_DecryptFinal_ex:bad decrypt:evp_enc.c:325: The weird thing is if I do the same with smaller files it can decrypt with no problem. I use openssl-0.9.8e-12.el5 on Centos 5.4. Please could you tell me what I am doing wrong? /bin/su wont work inside a chroot?

On centos 4 (i386 chroot on an x86_64) it just prompts me for a password. Unable to mount devices in rescue mode

Booting to CentOS 5.5 works and I am able to login with all my devices mounted. When I boot from the install DVD and type "linux rescue" I eventually get the message, after attempting to have one of the screens mount my partitions in read/write mode: "An error occurred trying to mount some or all of your system. Some of it may be mounted under /mnt/sysimage." But nothing appears mounted under /mnt/sysimage. Does anybody have any idea of why this error is happening ? Should I try mounting my CentOS 5.5 partitions manually at this point ?

Boot message about "resume device"

When I boot CentOS 5.5, I receive the message: Unable to access resume device ( UUID = some UUID etc. ) How do I find out what actual device to which this UUID refers ? It does not appear to be a block device since it does not show when I try 'blkid'. To what does "resume device" refer ? The boot succeeds but I would like to know what this messages means.

Many of your problems have been discussed and solved. Feel free to ask for a link to the solution, or the discussion. 4.
