IE 9 not sending digest auth info

I migrated our internal wiki server last week, and some IE users aren't able to authenticate. The service is hosted by Apache using Digest authentication. It migrated from Apache 2.2.9 (Debian 5) to Apache 2.2.15 (CentOS 6). The internal hostname for the wiki server is a DNS CNAME that was repointed from one host to another during the cutover. In a normal session, 1. Client sends GET 2. Server sends 401 with WWW-Authenticate header 3. Client sends GET with Authorization header 4. Server sends 200 with Authentication-Info header and page content When using IE 9 (and possibly 8, I'm still trying to track that down), 1. Client sends GET 2. Server sends 401 with WWW-Authenticate header 3. Client resends GET (*without* Authorization header) 4. Server sends 401 with WWW-Authenticate header 5. Etc. IE seems to be ignoring 401 and/or the WWW-Authenticate headers. Using Chrome on Windows works fine; the issues are specific to IE. Any ideas? CentOS4 desktop has stopped recognizing removable media - haldaemon problem?

USB sticks and cameras used to pop right up on my desktop. Now they don't. I've checked the Gnome "Drives and Media Preferences" and nothing has changed -- I have "Mount removable media when inserted" etc. (Tried toggling it off and back on, no effect.) I've logged out and back in, even rebooted. /var/log/messages shows the devices are being recognized by udev: Jun 27 19:53:37 torch kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sde at scsi11, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Jun 27 19:53:37 torch scsi.agent[13576]: disk at /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:0b.1/usb1/1-5/1-5:1.0/host11/target11:0:0/11:0:0:0 Jun 27 19:53:37 torch udevd[1347]: udev done! Jun 27 19:53:47 torch udevd[1347]: udev done! However, that's followed by this: Jun 27 19:54:07 torch hald[5179]: Timed out waiting for hotplug event 699. Rebasing to 699 I restarted hald (service haldaemon restart) and it picked up one of the two devices I'd plugged in, but not the other.

HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller

Hello, I'm trying to install CentOS 6.0 64bit on a HP ProLiant ML110 G7 with a HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller. One logical drive (RAID 1+0) on the RAID Controller is already build. CentOS Installation can't find the logical Drive, but it shows me the zwo physical drives (sda+sdb). Downloaded the file "hpahcisr-1.2.6-7.rhel5.x86_64.dd.gz" and do the dd from another Linux workstation. # dd if=hpahcisr-1.2.6-7.rhel5.x86_64.dd.gz of=/dev/sdb (4Gig USB Stick) starting the CentOS 6.0 64 bit installation from the DVD boot: linux dd After loading the kernel, the installer is asking whether I have driverdisk and asked to indicate which drive (sdc) /dev/sdc is my 4Gig USB Stick. My problem is now, the step "Driver Disk" is failed: Failed to mount driver disk. any hints are very, very welcome. Thanks in advance Richard

fdisk on centos 6

I am getting the WRONG values reported from fdisk on centos 6. This is listing an 8G CF card on /dev/sde Disk /dev/sde: 8019 MB, 8019099648 bytes 247 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1022 cylinders Units = cylinders of 15314 * 512 = 7840768 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0xd1b46611 It should be 255 heads, 63 sectors/track. Under centos 5 this is reported correctly. I even tried specifying the -S 63 -H 255 on the fdisk command line - that did not help. my symptom is when I setup my CF card to run linux - I get a grub error 2. What kind of madness is happening? Approximate size of CentOS mirror

openvpn + bridge utils in CentOS 6

Hi all, I just intalled openvpn + bridge in CentOS 6, but i get strange problems: the remote PCs cannot get the local PCs' MACs and also, the local PCs cannot get the remote PCs' MACs but when i run "brctl showmacs br0" it will list all the MACs and also " brctl show" will show that all the correct adapters are in br0 SELinux disabled any ideas? -- Tang Jianwei System Administrator

Intel wireless firmware

This may not be the best place to ask, but Google hasn't given me any useful information. I have an "older" laptop that is using the Intel 2200 wireless interface. I installed CentOS 5 on it some time ago and everything is fine. When I was reviewing my kickstart setups I found that the ipw2200 firmware package is no longer available in RPMForge. The CentOS site's how-to page for this interface still refers to RPMForge, so that now seems out of date. What happened to the Intel firmware packages on RPMForge and where else should I be looking for them ? I tried ELRepo and didn't see them there. Hi gang - Love CentOS - you guys to a fabulous job. It has been a while since I saw any update... I went to twitter.com/centos nothing there, twitter.com/centos6 nothing there, went to the qa calendar stuff nothing there. Last I saw was something in September saying all RPM's are built and doing ISO's. Then nothing. I know the whole story about its ready when its ready and I'm all for that... Its simply I went looking today and saw no status and was wondering what happened. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place. Thanks! jerry
