Putty error "Network error: Software caused connection abort"

Hi every: I have a test or development environment in my Windows workstation with VMware Workstation 8.0 where I have around 7 VM with CentOS 6.2 and each of them have 2 network interfaces: one bridge and the other NAT. Since a few days I have been experimenting some problems with Putty because I get this error: --------------------------- PuTTY Fatal Error --------------------------- Network error: Software caused connection abort --------------------------- OK --------------------------- I did not touch any SSH configuration so I can't see where the problem is, any help or solution to this? Kernel Panic

Hello, Just upgrade to 6.2 but have not been able to run a newer kernel than 2.6.32-131.12.1.el6.x86_64. I'm getting the error at boot, Not syncing: VFS Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) I have google this error and see a lot of the same but no clear answers. Any help would be appreciated. Mystery of email authentication

I'm trying to setup sendmail/dovecot on a new server running CentOS-6 (well, CentOS-6.2 now). Everything seems to go well, but when I run fetchmail I get this warning: ------------------------------------ [tim@grover ~]$ fetchmail imap.maths.tcd.ie fetchmail: Warning: the connection is insecure, continuing anyways. (Better use --sslcertck!) ------------------------------------ I should say that everything runs fine on a CentOS-5.7 server, and as far as I can see the setup on the new server is the same. Under CentOS-5.7 I don't get the same warning: ------------------------------------ [tim@helen ~]$ fetchmail imap.maths.tcd.ie fetchmail: No mail for tim at imap.maths.tcd.ie ------------------------------------ If I do add --sslcertck (as suggested) I get the response: ------------------------------------ [tim@grover ~]$ fetchmail --sslcertck imap.maths.tcd.ie fetchmail: Server certificate verification error: self signed certificate fetchmail: This means that the root signing certificate (issued for /C=IE/ST=Dublin/L=Dublin/O=School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin./OU=Automatically-generated IMAP SSL key/CN=imap.maths.tcd.ie/emailAddress=postmaster(a)maths.tcd.ie) is not in the trusted CA certificate locations, or that c_rehash needs to be run on the certificate directory. kernel panic/abort during boot

Just did an in-place update from 6.1 to 6.2 on my eeepc 901 (Atom CPU). during boot, (if I hit ESC to see the boot messages) it says "starging udev" then nothing else for a few seconds, then a huge register dump scrolls by. it's too big to see the beginning of it. If I boot from the prior kernel and look in /var/log/messages, I don't see any evidence of the failed boot. I've seen the other thread titled "kernel panic", and it seems to be due to a missing initramfs, but there is an initramfs for 2.6.32-220.el6 already in /boot, so I don't think that would be the problem. is centos bugzilla borked?

I managed to get an account set up on the centos bugzilla, after futzing with it for a half hour, but for the life of me I cannot get to the page where I would enter a new one. my browser just says "transferring data from bugs.centos.org" and sits there with the little thingie going round and round. for an hour or more. disconnect and try again. same thing. I've been trying for over two hours to enter a bug and this is all I can get. So, the inevitable question of its "borked-ness" state arises. the reason it took me as long as stated to get an account set up was because of similar shenanigans on the various pages one needed to go thru to do the account creation. but at least it worked after a while. Suggestions, anyone? Pass iPhone/iTouch through kvm to Win7 VM?

I'm all Linux at home and trying to get a Win7 running in a VM on CentOS 5.6 and kvm to connect to my iTouch and iPhone. When I plug the iPhone in and run lsusb I get an address of 05AC:12A0 I put that into a hostdev block in the xml file that defines the VM. <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='usb' managed='no'> <source> <vendor id='0x0781'/> <product id='0x554f'/> </source> </hostdev> But...no joy. Anyone get kvm to pass an iTouch or iPhone through to the VM so it can communicate with iTunes? Dave

yum --import of RPMforge

lm-sensors on Sun hardware

Hey guys and gals, Anyone have any experience with getting lm-sensors to run on Sun hardware? In particular Sunfire x2250 and x4170 I was running 5.3 on these boxes and sensors-detect would not find anything. I did a bit of research and as I recall thanks to this list discovered some bugs that were affecting me, so upgraded to 5.7. CPU temp sensors were then detected, but no fan sensors. Where is the boot.iso file?

Hi all, I am trying to install CentOS 6.2 x86_64 under vmware workstation to do some tests. I do all installs using boot.iso file and installing all packages from mirror.centos.org, but where is boot.iso file for CentOS 6.2?? I don't see it under repository tree ...
